The research in this group covers theoretical aspects as well as practical applications of reliability and security problems on networks. We are interested in finding methods for analyzing the robustness of a network (or process on a network) subject to random failures of some of its components. In reliability analysis the focus lies on quantifying the performance of the network, whereas in security analysis the closeness of an intact network to a failed state is measured.
